Reports To: Accounting Manager Direct Reports: None FLSA Status: Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting records and Financial Statements by recording and verifying accounting transactions and maintaining and reconciling key General Ledger accounts Essential Job Functions: Maintain the day-to-day accounting for Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Intangibles, Other Assets, Accruals, Other Liabilities and Debt, ensuring the accuracy of postings affecting the related General Ledger accounts Maintain cash reporting and bank account reconciliation Work with Accounting Department and internal partners to ensure accurate accruals and General Ledger account allocations throughout the month Ensure intercompany transactions and balances are reconciled for key General Ledger areas Perform month-end close process through the preparation and posting of journal entries and preparing timely analysis and reconciliation of General Ledger accounts under minimal supervision ensuring strict adherence to closing time schedule Review the Financial Statement positions for Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Intangibles, Other Assets, Accruals, Other Liabilities and Debt for accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting standards (US GAAP) Create and maintain supplemental schedules related to key General Ledger areas Assist in the year-end external financial audit, ensuring strict adherence to closing time schedule As needed, manage the accounting processes, including month-end closing, for any small acquisitions not yet incorporated into company ERP Coordinate with Accounting Manager and Controller for information required to prepare and file various local, state and federal taxes, sales tax, use tax and workers’ compensation. Proactively identify and implement improvements to internal controls and accounting processes to improve integrity, accuracy, efficiency and productivity; leveraging use of standardization and ERP systems Serve as the Secondary back-up to other Accounting Associate(s) as necessary; other duties and special projects as needed Training: Provided on the job and supplemented with external seminars/classes Qualifications: Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field Experience: 1-3 year’s previous work experience; solid accounting skill; background in understanding of US GAAP reporting fundamentals a plus Key Competencies: Self-motivated and results driven, strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving, ability to multi-task, high degree of integrity and confidentiality, initiative with decision making, teamwork and cooperation Physical Requirements: Long periods of sitting or standing at an individual work station, heavy computer work Working Conditions: Temperature-regulated office environment.
